Donnie D's started with a simple conviction: the Roanoke Valley deserved a proper New York Style bagel, made from scratch every morning. That's still the whole idea.
The New York bagel standard
Kettle-boiled before it hits the oven — that's what gives a Donnie D's bagel its dense chew and crackly crust. We do it that way every morning, in over twenty flavors.
Born in Daleville
The first shop opened in Daleville, and regulars took to it fast — coming back as much for the counter crew as the food. That loyalty is what turned a small bagel shop into something people genuinely depend on.
After the fire
In 2023, the Roanoke location on Brandon Ave went through a fire — the kind of setback that ends a lot of small businesses. Donnie D's rebuilt, and the regulars were waiting when the doors reopened.
Sandwiches worth waking up for
The 220 on a cheese bagel, fried bologna on onion, or a classic bacon, egg, and cheese — the deli menu has its own loyal following. Specialty flavors sell out before lunch, so come early.
Two locations, same promise
Daleville and Brandon Ave, Roanoke — same promise at both: fresh bagels every morning, honest deli food, and a crew that knows your order. Stop in or order ahead; the bagels will be there.
